    CycloCross Season 2012

Just wanted to post some pictures on the forum from the first Cyclocross Race of 2012. Hopefully we can add pictures from all the CX races for the 2012 season on this thread.

Good idea starting a 2012 CX thread, Josh! I dig the socks in that second photo. You shot these at the UTCX race at Snowbird last week, right? Did you get any with good mountain backgrounds? I am really curious about what kind of backdrops can be lined up on that course. Also, how about some tech details on your photos. What camera, lenses and settings did you use?

    Thanks John!!

I did shoot them last week at the Snowbird race. I have a lot with different backdrops. I will post more here. I was using the 7D with either the 70-200 f2.8 IS II or the 24-205 f4 IS lens from Canon. They were shot using ISO 100. Shot in RAW and Manual mode. No flash or reflectors were used. Hope you enjoy a few more shots from the race. More can be found at JCE Photography | Home Page.

Posting the images side by side like that makes them nearly unviewable. You have to scroll all the way down to get the forum's scroll bar, then scroll back up to the post and see how far you missed your scroll, then back and forth. As the thread builds, that scroll bar gets farther and farther away..... Post #3 stretches all the way over to the refrigerator!

Using IE9, if that makes a difference. In Chrome they stay within my screen, but I don't use Chrome. i don't even have Firefox installed on this PC, so I can't tell you anything about that.

Works just fine in Safari on OS-X Mountain Lion.

I would prefer that they were posted larger, in-line, too. Looks too much like a collage here to me. I want to be able to better view each image on its own. That said, there's some good stuff here. I like these more environment images a lot, Josh. I especially like the third one and the second to last. The aspens in the background of the second to last one are beautiful.

I'd also be more likely to choose one of these as a Featured Photo if they were larger

I agree. I have a bunch of my own cyclocross photos to post. Hoping to get to that this week.

By the way, welcome to the site, skitheast

    Latest from Utah Cyclocross

Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake City is a favorite venue for the local series. Here's one or two from Saturday.
