#9 is awesome, though you may want to crop it some to get rid of the distractions at the top. I also really like the 'classic' paint job on the bike in #2. - TF

Nice pictures this is a class that I actually follow on Eurosport 2.
It's too bad that Shane Byrne, Leon Haslam are gone to WSBK, but with Leon Camier and Karl Harris it's still fun to watch.
One of my favourite circuits in the championship is Cadwell Park ( nice jump called The Hill ).
I've some plans to photograph one raceweekend of the BSB, but I actually don't know how hard it is too get an accreditation as an foreigner.

    Sooo Nice!

I don't follow roadracing anymore but it still has a place in my heart. I'm always happy to see some good moto photos on the site. And these are wonderful. My favorites are Agostini on the Augusta and the last two. Even if the second photo wasn't Agostini it would be a beauty. That Augusta is a beautiful bike. Is it a restoration? It looks perfect.

Can you tell us a little about how you shot them? One of the main benefits of this forum is that experienced photographers can share their sports photography technique with people who are just learning. When I first started shooting action it was really hard to learn because none of the pros would tell the newcomers a thing. What camera and lenses did you use? What shooting mode? What auto focus mode? Which focus point? Any other insider tidbits that beginning motorsports photographers will benefit from?

Thanks for sharing these and thanks in advance for sharing some of your roadracing photo technique with us

    Amazing images!

I don't know a thing about the sport nor the racers, but I still love these images. #1 is very dynamic and it makes me feel like I'm on the course and about to be overtaken. #6 is also great for the alignment of the racers.

Thanks for sharing. Makes me almost wish I started out shooting sports instead of nature

They're not mutually exclusive, you know. You can shoot both

Thanks. Look forward to you coming to a round. Your images are stunning and something to aim towards. Would love to get some that good one day.

I will pm you the details re the media accreditation. Once they see your work i would think it will not be a problem

Thanks for your kind comments John.

As for my technique. I am no expert just someone who is gradually getting a wee bit better. I use a Nikon D40 with a sigma 100-300mm f4 lens. I shoot in shutter priority. Iso 200 , continuous Focus servo, AF Single area. Use shutter speeds around 1/250 for panning but that depends on the speed of the bike. For head on shots i usually up the speed to anything as much as 1/640 again depending on the speed of the bike. That tends to work for me although i am now considering upgrading my camera for something a bit better

Only really started 2 years ago to get some photos of my nephew who is the rider in #1 and the bug has bitten

As SW has told me on many occasions a lot is down to practice. I have also had a lot of invaluble advice on here. I am happy with the improvements i have made with the photos which are clear to see from some of my earlier posts :blush2:

Thanks again to everyone for the comments and advice which helps a lot

I like the knee slider in #1, Alex looks like he's really on it in that one.
