Dark and rainy.. yuck.. actually did part of a soccer match last year in a downpour.. went under the big bleachers and shot what I could with the 70-300 lens I had in my bag.. stayed for most of that match but yuck.. carried a towel and kept everything dry since that lens and the 50D aren't water sealed

Not at all. Plus, last night I had to shoot an outdoor Dierks Bentley concert and just after the opening act it started to pour. I had to dive under the equipment truck semi tractor trailer to get out of the rain. While hiding under there it started to form huge puddles so I got soaked sitting in it. Then when the band comes out it got pretty cold. So, I'm standing in the photo pit with soaked blue jeans, shoes, and shirt, it's cold and windy and now I've got to get some wonderful snaps of the band. Standing on a cool and damp high school football field tonight with 30 mile per hour winds is going to be great in comparison.
