Permission Needed to Photograph Sports Events

    Hello,

I am intersted in photographing some local high school, little league, pop warner sporting events and then selling the pictures back tot he parents etc. Do I need to obtain permission to do this? If so, from whom, school, league, parents?

    Thanks.

    My two cents...

If you are looking to do so for profit, you should talk to the league director.
It will accomplish a few things.
If they give you permission, they might help get the word out that you are there to do so. It will also give you credibility.
    Good Luck!

Re: Permission Needed to Photograph Sports Events

You should definitely contact the league or school. I work with two leagues and they have a photgraphic company which has semi-exclusive to exclusive rights. They allow parents to take pcitures but regulate them to their kids team.

The photo release forms for the kids are held by their gym and league they are competing in.

Good Luck, I mean to discourage you in no way. Allot of it is how you aproach the responsible people.
