    Point-&-Shoot Camera For Sports Photogs

Panasonic just anounced a new pocket camera that I think a lot of action sports photographers will want. The new FX700 has a 10-FPs burst rate at full resolution. It also has full 1080p HD video.

For photographers who want more than a pocket camera, there's the new Panasonic Lumix FZ100 superzoom. It uses the same CMOS sensor as the FX700 and has an 11-FPS frame rate. That's faster than the best Nikon and Canon sports DSLRs! On top of that, the FZ100 also has a 24x optical zoom lens with a 600mm telephoto. Talk about having it all!

I'm really looking forward to testing these two cameras!

I put in for a FX700 at the office. We'll see how fast I can grab one and start shooting.

Cool. The FX700 is a real surprise. It looks like it could be the point-and-shoot I've been waiting for. I'm glad I took a close look at the specs. My assistant is on vacation and normally she probably would have posted that announcement and I might have missed what's special about the camera. I just looked at the LX5's specs annd features again and I think the FX700 looks like a way more interesting camera, as does the FZ100 superzoom.

Is there any type of shutter lag with this camera?
