    Santa Cruz Riding

Some hidden trails in Santa Cruz. It was so nice out today I hiked and my brother rode. I can't wait to ride again...

    Really nice images.
The slow shutter gives them a quite unique look.

What was the setup? Remote controlled flash I guess but how many, what kind and how did you fire them?

Those are awesome, Dave! I hope I can squeeze in a Santa Cruz ride when I'm in the Bay Area. I really like the photos where you left the flash in. That's nice. I always try to keep it out but I think you really used it well and it adds to the photos here.

Gotta hit that stupid log drop. I've been going around it for years. It's so scary when you ride up on it but when I look at it rationally it's no big deal. I hit a drop that big on the 4th and broke my derailleur hanger and it was no big deal. Got sack up and show that stupid log who's boss.

    Re: Santa Cruz Riding

    Thanks for the compliments guys!

Brotom7: Is there a pic in particular you are looking for info on? The setup changed quite a bit from photo to photo. Obviously I used one remote flash the majority of the time (you can see it in the pics), but other times I used a second remote flash or an on camera flash, or no other flash at all. My lens choice ranged from 15mm f2.8 fish, 16-35 f2.3, and 70-200 f2.8.

John: Kudos from you are always appreciated. I had a lot of fun snapping these. That log looks really sketch from the top, but after watching him drop it repeatedly it's really not that bad. He was able to just roll/drop it a few times and then launched it.

I wasn't sure how I'd like the flash left in, but I snuck a couple peaks on the LCD and was liking the way it looked.

If you manage to get down to SC hit me up. I can hike up and take some shots. Who knows...maybe you'll drop the log.
