    wet camera

I recently went on a boat trip and got my dsc v1 wet.It was sprayed river water on and was in a case and was never submerged in water. However it will now not switch on.I tried a new battery and still no luck.Is this going to be a big problem to fix? Sony want 180 dollars to send it of and fix it or would it be something a local repair shop can fix?Or shall i just get another camera?
    Thanks Nick

Whether you take it to Sony or to a repair shop it's probably going to cost you an arm or so...

Try taking the case off of it and and opening every door and or compartment and taking a hair dryer on the lowest setting. There may be a little water still left in it. I had an MP3 player that I washed in the washer on accident and it didn't come on, until I tryed the hair dryer trick. Took a few attempts but I eventually got all the water out and it worked fine from then on.
