Three new bodies and one flash...

SonyStyle - USA is listing A500, A550, A850 and HVLF40AM in the list for registration. Exiting times ahead.

Also a rumor that a firmware update for the A700 (v5.1) has been seen.

Hmm I wonder why they'd make a F40AM when they already have the F42AM, as that isn't really much of a difference in power. Perhaps the F40AM can be used as the on-camera trigger and control ratio flash.. Wishful thinking..

Those of you out there waiting for the a700 replacement, hang on to something because here it comes!

Again, the models were "conveniently" "leaked" on one of Sony's websites.. This was the same way the last round was "leaked," except on Sony Canada.. You'd think they would have figured out how to stop these "leaks" by now.. :wink5:

I heard from someone who claims to have 'insider knowledge', and he stated that the A850 will have the 24.6 Mpix sensor, with a slight downgrade in build quality and pentaprism to the A900. Sounds strange to me, since the A900 already is basically the A700 with a full frame sensor, they can't 'downgrade' much, but, time will tell. Supposedly the A550 will also be an upgrade from the A700

That is very strange if sony goes that route. Sony actully needs to upgrade the a900, for a full frame sensor it sure has allot of noise compared to the 5d mark II and the d700. But it has amazing sharpness and color.

I cant wait until they put those nifty page's up for the new bodies.

The A900 has pretty good noise performance, it isn't quite as clean as the 5D and particularly the D700, but it has 3 more MPix than the 5D and over double the D700, which does compensate for a lot. I dont think they need to upgrade the A900 yet because as it is its very solid competition.
