Is Sony gonna be my best fit?

    hi,

Next year I am going to be studying abroad in a relatively seculded area am I am looking to get a dSLR and learn more about photography. Over the last few years I have accumulated a quite a bit of Sony Rewards Points and wouldn't mind redeeming them for the dSLR, but if Sony's dSLR aren't gonna be the best fit for a newbie like me I don't mind spending my own money. Is Sony going to be a good match or will getting one be a mistake?

    Thanks for the help,

    Dan

    read also the pro review.

I think that compared with the Canon xti and Nikon D80, the Alpha is the best for the value. At ISO 100 - 200 Image quality is probably the best among the 3...+ you have IS for all your lenses, cheap good lenses on ebay (old minoltas) (sorry, I haven't read much about Pentax and Olympus, but I would think that they are all as good).

If your plan is to become a "pro" and spend more $10,000 in lenses and a metal body that shoots 10 pictures/sec, in the near future, full frame sensor, etc, then you will be dissapointed, because Sony only has the Alpha for the moment.
