Sony F-828 - Best settings for natural light photography?

This is a question for a friend to be honest.

She wants to shoot using natural light only but she tells me her lens is fixed and the images are very noisy on higher ISO's.

What are the best settings for her to use in indoor Natural light conditions?

This is going to be a newborn shoot so she can hopefully have her SS quite low.

    TIA

ISO 100 to 200 is usually good for noise and f 4 with a focal length between 35 and 55 mm, if you are shooting fairly close. I have got good results with that but in hospitals watch out for the bizarre colour of some fluorescent lights. White balance needs to be closely monitored.

Thanks Ronnoco. I think she is shooting these in her own home so at least she will be familiar with her lighting there.

Tia, if you use the Sony F828, in my experience, indoor available light photography is not this camera's forte! You'll find that image noise increases quite a bit if you shoot over ISO 200. I would definitely use a monopod at a minimum, if a tripod is impractical. Try to bracket your exposures if possible, and process through Photoshop for sharpness, and then in Neat Image or Noise Ninja to clean up some of the noise artifacts. Good luck!
