    Sony Alpha Flash

Has anyone tried any of the off brand TTL/Wireless flashes for the Sony Alpha cameras? I need at least two. Unfortunately, the Minolta 3500XI's that I have are not really compatible with Sony, though they will work on the hot shoe in a limited fashion.

I picked up two used HVL-F42AM flashes that look/work like new off ebay for <$200 each. The IR wireless TTL from my A350 has been great. I have not tried any non-Sony brands. - TF

Thanks, I figure that in this case trying to save money will probably cost me more in the long run.

Here is the setup I experimented with this morning to photograph hummingbirds in the back yard.

    Humming Bird setup

    Camera: Konica Minolta 5
    Film: Kodak Ektar, ISO 100
    Lighting: Two Minolta 3500XI, wireless

I will let you know how it turns out, probably finish the roll tonight.

Hummingbirds are really hard to photograph. They do not stay in one place for long. Some limited success, hopefully practice will show an improvement.
