    Sony A450

New sony A450= A550 with only the main sensor Live View (no Fast Focus LV).

Here is the Sony UK announcement.

EDIT - The Overview shows it with "Quick AF Live View", but I don't think that this is true according to the Features and Specs tabs.

Hope this is a trend that the other manufacturers will follow I am sure I am not alone in not wanting fancy Live View and tilting screens bt would prefer a cheaper simpler camera that gives quality results

Whats the point!? What does this do that sets it apart from the A5xx?

    Re: Sony A450

Considering its a lower model number, I'd wager thats a pretty good assumption.

Still wanting to hear about an A750! While they are flooding the market they may want to flood with a new pro APS-crop body! Thats 5 APS consumer bodies and two full frame pro bodies. The A700 needs a sequel! But, would they actually put the same 14 mpix sensor in it as their 2 other units, introduce a new ~16/17/18Mpix? Or are they just keeping the gap between A550/A850?

Strange time to be releasing the A450, why didn't they hype it up like they did their last two releases?

    EDITED

I would guess that it was suppose to be released with the A500/550 (like the A230 with the A330/380), but missed the date for some reason.

I expect an A6xx or two in Feb to start filling that gap from the bottom. Then will come another A8xx FF to fill it from the top.

In my infinite wisdom (in other words a total guess) I think the A7xx model number will be kept out for a while until the A700 is history and then used for a totally new model. Video? Live View? Electronic view finder? New, smaller lens mount? In other words, the old Minolta users are NOT going to be happy.

    Re: Sony A450

I had a hard time understanding why its only a Europe model. I guess they like them better since Sony dslr's are selling better everywhere but the U.S.

From what I've read, Sony is #2 in Europe - ahead of Canon. - TF
