    Minolta 16mm Fisheye Lens Shoots.

Just got my Minolta 16mm f2.8 Lens. Here are some sample shots.

So far it's a very good lens. Nice and sharp. The only problem is that I have to figure out when to use it. I think this lens will be good for a very big group pictures since it's very wide. I am glad I have this lens in my collection, so when the time comes, it's know when to use it. Any suggestions will be welcome.

Re: Minolta 16mm Fisheye Lens Shoots.

Thanks for posting samples. This is a specialty lens indeed. I would use this at events in a few ways. One example is like your second photo to show an overall setting. I would use it to get up close on a nice table setting or food display etc. I would put it up high to look down onto a scene or get low and shoot up for interesting perspectives. I don't own a fisheye but these are some things I would try with it. I'll have to keep this in mind as I'll be looking for a wide lens for use at a friends wedding in June '07.

I was eyeing the KM 11-18 as a possibility. The sigma 12-24 gets a serious consideration as it is a full-frame lens (possible future full-frame DSLR from Sony?). If I don't decide or don't come up with the cash I'll definitely look at the fisheye.
