    Indoor Sports

    Good Morning Everyone

Yesterday I Had The Worst Day Of Shooting In My Life, I Tried To Capture My Grandson's Basketball Game And It Was A Total Disaster.

I Am Using The A100 With The Kit Lens And I Tried Every Combination Of Settings The Camera Would Allow And Nothing Was Good , I'm Talking Not Even Acceptable.

I Realize A Better Lens Would Help , However, At This Point This Is What I Have To Work With. Someone Help.

    Tommy

Examples and settings would help us to give you advice.

    What ISO did you use?

What exactly was it about the photos? Blur, underexposure? Did you shoot in RAW or JPEG?

You may want to post in the sports forum also. Those folks may be able to help more.

Depending on the lighting, you'd most likely have to shoot at ISO 1600 wide open. Besides that, there really is no substitute for a faster lens.

The last indoor basketball game I went to I shot my 70-210 f/4 at ISO 1600 and the results weren't too great. Next time I'll probably sacrifice the telephoto reach and shoot my waaaaaaay faster 50 f/1.4 instead.
