How to delete images from MMC ?

Hi

I got a Sony Cybershot DSC-T9 and connected to my Win XP Pro PC via USB.

I didnt install the Cybershot software - Windows opened the MMC contents as a separate drive. I want the delete the images in the MMC but says its write-protected. Any idea how to delete the images ?

thats what sucks about sony - youre required to install the drivers to interface with the camera memory card properly.

but honestly - get a memory card reader, nothing beats em.

I did install the usb driver that was supplied by Sony but didnt install their Picture Package software.
I still cant seem to delete the images from my PC using Explorer but have to delete them one by one from the camera.

then you may have ot use the supplied software to interface with the memory card.

seriously - the memory card reader would run you $10, no more then $20. get that, you'll be glad you did...

Where doe this MMC reader need to be inserted ? I have a desktop which doesnt have an internal MMC reader. If I get an external one how does this get fixed to my PC ? via USB ?

yes - through the usb port.

by the way just so you know - its not an MMC, its actually memory stick - dont go out buying any mmc reader, cause that just wont work! get the memory stick reader.... ;)

Oh..I see...MultiMedia Card is different from a Memory Card ? I thought the same card goes into the mobile phones and cameras.

nope, completely different, theres primarily four different media, MMC/SD, compact flash, Smartmedia/XD, and memory stick. within those four categories are different cards. but those are the big four.
