    Help With Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S500

So today i was about to take some pictures and i put the camera down on the floor, when i came back in i didn't see it. So i accidently stepped on it. I piked it back up and the little thing that comes out when you turn it on (the thing that the lens is in) was like half way pushed in. I tried to turn it back on and the screen would come on saying "cyber-shot" and then the accses lamp bliked red and then it turned it self off. I have tried new batteries and it didn't work. is there any thing else i can do?

I don't think there's anything you can do besides take it in for repair or replace it with a new cam.

That piece does come off relatively easily, and can be fixed, but the lens cover maybe tricky to get to work again. If its under warranty then I would let Sony try and fix it. If not, then take a small thin file or something similar and pry the peice off without bending it. It sounds like the cover is binding the lens mechanism, and when your camera notices this it turns off to avoid destroying itself.
