    help please

I'm new to the sight and am needing some information. I recently purchased a Sony dslr- a200. I was told that all of my Minolta Maxxum lenses would work. However, when I attach them I get the message: shutter locked no lens attached. They go on fine and click in place. The lenses that I am having problems with are all Sigma lenses -a 28-200mm/ a 75-300mm/ and a 28-70mm they are all autofocus. I also have a Minolta 49mm and a Photax 52mm that work fine. Any suggestions? Help? Thanks.

    Re: help please

I have a very old Sigma 75-200 f/2.8-3.5 and works with my A100.
A dum idea: cleaning the lens contacts with an eraser?, contact Sigma and see if they can reprogram?
Hope somebody else here posts a better solution.

Contact Sigma about the problem. Some older lenses need to be re-chipped to work on newer bodies.

    Hi,
I am new here too. Just an idea to get you through till you get an answer (cleaning might work) look in your camera manual for defeating the shutter lock.

    Re: help please

Defeating the shutter lock wont work if theres no aperture control. Roscoet - are they working fine on your film body? And, you have a 49mm and a 52mm? Are you sure those aren't the filter threads?

    And welcome to the forums!
