I have just bought myself an Alpha A100 and love it. I am new too SLR cameras but did projects on them at uni many decades ago so have a bit of a clue.
Been looking around in here and reading threads and getting lots of great clues and ideas from your posts and links so thanks.
Mine was the twin lens kit.

Welcome to the site! Always good to have a new member. We have a Sony Alpha for the office. I bought it so I could do a Sony Alpha pro review and then decided to keep it. I love the built-in image stabilization. It makes for an excellent tradeshow and event camera. And based on what I saw at the PMA tradeshow, Sony is very committed to the Alpha system, with two new bodies in the works. Here's a link to our PMA blog post about the new Sony DSLRs:

Hello AlphaMantis. Welcome to the Sony Alpha Crew. Glad you love your Sony Alpha, as we all do on this site.

Couple of this to do:
1. Get your avatar (image to represents you under you user name) put on.
2. Write a review of your Sony Alpha. I think most of our Sony members have. Wait until you get familiar with the product first.
3. Have fun taking lots of pictures and post them! I've learned how to take pictures on this site with the help of many members. I am still learning of course (I am still a newb).

Things to check out.
1. Sony's new DSLR at PMA. Pretty cool stuff. Not sure when it's gonna come out yet.

Hello and welcome

Well, thats the avatar. Been taking lots of pics and am waiting for a tripod to turn up that I won on ebay. Still working out the different settings and how they effect the shots. Took a lot of shots of the moon last night and ended up with ISO 100, 1/400 s , f5.6 and it came out pretty good. Fun stuff eh
