Battery Grip for A100k

I have recently been thinking of getting a battery grip for my a100k... I was wondering if it helps to increase the FPS or if it will only be increasing the battery life. I know some other cameras have an increase in FPS with grips and was wondering if it might do the same for mine!

I have never heard of increased frame rate with a grip. Only uses I know of are for a second battery and to allow better control when shooting portrait format. - TF

I know on Nikon's you get a faster frame rate when you use the grip with AA batteries but I have no idea about the other mfg.'s. I did some Google searching and the only thing I can find is that you get longer runtimes due to the extra battery.

It will only result in longer battery life in addition to the ergonomics. There's no Sony brand grip for the a100, only 3rd party. I had the dicain grip myself..
