A200 With Sony HVL-F36AM Flash

Hi I am trying to get a Sony (rebadged Minolta) HVL-F36AM Flash unit to work together but failing. Has anyone any suggestions short of buying a new camer that is.

It should work. Other Minolta branded camera's work with the Sony branded flash units so I don't think Sony changed anything. Maybe they did? Maybe you got a defective unit?

Update - Now fixed by resetting camera to the factory settings. Still wondering what and if I did, why, to screw this up
