Viewing Previous Threads?

I am old and dumb regarding the internet so be patient with me. I am able to view the most recent threads on the forum, but I cannot view previous threads. For example, I am viewing Digita SLRs. The options display shows 1 - 15 threads - how do I view the previous threads?

At the top and bottom of the messages list, there is a block that for me says "Page 1 of 17" and next to it the numbers 1,2,3,11, >, and lat>>

Those are the page controls.
Either by page number or the > moves to the next page.
