    Strange happenings...

(PC, WinXP,IE8) I always open the threads with 'Open in new tab' and lately these open and then do a re-'connecting' and start over. The entire thread is then also marked as 'read'.

I don't know if this is related - today, the tab keeps 'jumping up and down' with the following trying to load over and over:

http://static.ak.fbcnd.net/connect/x....php?version=0... (I think this is correct since it just flashes.)

If I have two tabs open to PR, both of my cores are at 100%. If many are open, things come to a stand still.

That's Facebook connect, code, I think. Maybe the engineers are playing with it on the site. Thanks for mentioning it. I'll ask about it. It could be a bug with the Facebook "Like" buttons, too. Those are definitely buggy - especially since Facebook never stops messing with the code on their end.

The Facebook 'Like' button is at the top of where it 'jumps'. - Terry

    Re: Strange happenings...

Is anyone else seeing this problem? I have the same problem in IE7, but not IE8. I was just going to update the machine that uses IE7 and consider the problem fixed. But if you're having it in IE8, I'm thinking something else is at fault. I've tested on Firefox, IE7 and IE8 on two different machines and it's only happening for me with IE7.

When I use IE7, the left side of the web page is regularly bumping up and down a bit, just enough to give me motion sickness.
However, now I'm using Chrome as a test, since you didn't mention that one, and the page is steady.

I've now seen it using IE8 on my third, imaging-only computer.
