    Read/unread - no differentiation

I have no bold print - no differentiation in read/unread anyplace on PR. Just new today. I noticed this week that when I clicked on a thread/post that everything under that one looked "read." However, today, there is no bold at all.

    Any thoughts?

Check to see if you are logged on Liz. Sounds a little glitchy.
If you are logged in, log out, clear your cookies and temporary internet files then log back in.

    Liz,

I have found similar things happening from time to time as well. One thing I have noticed. If I am loged in for a while and not actually accessed anything for a period of time, everything actually gets marked off as read, even though I haven't read them. Maybe this might be similar at times with you as well. Not sure of your workflow when accessing the site though.

But it is frustrating isn't it.

    Thanks Lara and Peter,

I did clear out the files and logged in again. I forgot the password, so had to redo that also. Nothing changed - still no bold.

I'm sorry Liz. It seems that lately people are running into issues that I can't explain. It all seems to be working okay for me, so I can't duplicate the problem and I am using the same mode as you (Linear oldest post first.) Hopefully, like Kelly's issue, it will go away on it's own. Please let me know if it does not in a day or so.

    Lara,

Don't feel bad.......it's kinda like how the week is going......

The good news is........nothing serious....... just a glitch that will undo itself.

I've noticed that once I access a forum, then if I exit IE and restat it, then re-enter the forum, the bold is cleared.
But it used to remember I hadn't read them and leave the bold, I swear it did !

It might be an enhancement (bug) in the latest WinXP update.

So if you click on "new posts" (middle of the blue bar), does anything show up, even if it's not bolded?

Because I usually view everything by "new posts" to find out what's new, and sometimes they're all there, but just not bold.

That's been happening recently too, but not consistently.

It seems some people run into one problem or another, while others don't. I wish I had an answer for everyone.

The forums server was reset today, so hopefully it will fix some of these glitches.

"New Posts" is what I use all the time. When I am finished, I click on "Mark forums as read." It's the best I can think of to keep track.

    Re: Read/unread - no differentiation

My unread are sometimes bold now, sometimes not. However, when they are bold, once I click on one in that forum, the next time I go into that specific forum, none are bold anymore. So, instead of just the one I read changing, they all change together.

BTW, early this afternoon I couldn't get into PR at all. I got into other sites, but not here. However, it's fine now - maybe someone was working on it.

Neither of the above do I view as a problem. just a FYI type thing.
