Rating an image

Do you have to be a registered member to rate a photo in the gallery section ? The reason I ask is that today somebody dragged out some of my older gallery images and gave them all a 1 rating , the poster left no comment or name. Is this spam or does someone just hate my stuff ?

I noticed the same thing in my gallery
There was a lot of spam
All the spam comments have been deleted
I don't know how they will be able to fix the ratings

Sorry guys. We had a mass spam attack yesterday - 6700 gallery comments by one member. That member also gave all the photos they commented on a one rating. We had to go into the database to remove the all the spam but last I checked the comment count was still wrong and I totally forgot about the rating. I'm not sure if there is going to be anything we can do about the bad rating but let me check. I need to follow up on that today anyway.
