    Profiles and Avatars

Take a look at your profiles and upload an avatar. I just set up the profile fields and I think they're pretty good. I'm excited about being able to click on someone's name and learn more about them. If there are fields you'd like to see added to the profile page, let me know.

And get yourself an avatar. Don't know what an avatar is? Check out the Photo-John graphic to the left of this post. That's my avatar. If you click on "My Profile" and go to your control panel page, you'll find an avatar link. Use that to upload an avatar. I suggest creating one, at size, with Photoshop. That way it will look the best. I think you can also so a Google search on "avatars" and find fun, animated one's to download. But everyone should really make one. We're all creative people, right?

Looks like we're on track and we may be taking these forums live, late next week. I'm psyched!

There's at least one reason you guys were confused. There was a setting I had to change to activate custom avatars for you guys. It should work now. But Paul, I think your idea for an avatar thread is a good one. I'll make one later today. Maybe I'll make two, one "How to" on this forum, and one, "Show off your avatar" discussion on ViewFinder.

Now about that signature, Paul. Wasn't it a different color last night? You should be able to make it look pretty much any way you want by using vB code: http://forums.photographyreview.com/misc.php?do=bbcode

    Nat and Paul-
By the avatars next to your posts, I can see that you both figured it out. Aren't avatars great? They're just one of the things that makes this new forum software so nice.
