problems with the page are damaging

first let me say this is just an observation and it is really not going to matter to me one way or another if it remains the same, however....


i think your wonderful sight with its wonderful exchange of information is being severly damaged with it extremely poor server services.

i post on approx 15-20 pages a day with excellent results from even "the arkansas duck hunting page".

this page has the poorest and slowest function of any i am on.

i can never get the classified to load and even if it does it will not load responses or further quiries.

the wild life page, which is my favorite is useless most of the time and prohibits me from commenting, gaining or offering advice, or even getting to it in a reasonable amount of time.

my limited use is reflected by the poor performance and burdensom and time consuming use of the page.

as a new photographic business advertiser with limited dollars i have no choice but to withhold dollars from this page as it would be a waste of time for possible customers and more than likely would be construed to reflect on my business as well.

being from n. cal like you, we are both well aware of the cutting edge technology that was founded and remains here today. why tyou have not tapped into that stream is perplexing.

i do not say this to critisize but just in passing.

its a shame this site is destined to languish due poor server performance.

i will still visit on occasion as i enjoy what communication i do have here but frustration prohibits heavy use.

I'm sorry. We actually just added very fast new servers for the forums. So I am sure that's not the problem.

I do care and want your experience on the site to be as smooth and comfortable as possible. It would help if you could be more specific about the load problems you're experiencing. Does only part of the page load or does nothing load? Are you getting errors or is the problem just poor load times?

thanx for the response john. here are a few particulars

just now when i clicked on this section it came up with and ad page and said "done" in the puter lower left tool bar.

i went back a page and reloaded and the feedback sight loaded.

i then clicked on this thread and again an ad page came up and i was going to reload but it did go to this thread.

other problems, one i have had from the beginning and asked about it in my first pm to paul over on the wildlife page was as follows. when i am not logged on or when i am using my computer at home the threads run from earliest down to last. when i log into this page on my work puter it reverses the order with newest at top. i reset the proepr order of descending on the page but it defualts to acending and i just quit bothering as that is not too hard to live with regardless of the glitch that causes it.

other problems are the speed in loading which seems to have improved some.

the main problem is
loading only the ad bars accross the top and no thread . it will sometimes load correctly with a refresh but yesterday i had to go bak and reload the whole page.

another is when i do post a repsponse it will hang on the redirect page or will reload the page without my post showing and i have to refresh or redirect manually.

now being an internet whizz, along with doing net research for the last 10 years for a living, i look at a lot of sights and also tend to have a heavy users attitude. that means when i click the sight it better start moving or i am gone to one that will.

i know there are loyalists that will wait forever for their favorite sight, which i have been known to do to some extent, but when us mercenaries look for something we are after the place that delivers the correct info the fastest and with the least trouble will get our business.

as i said, i like page and the folks i met here and will continue to visit but was just sharing.:thumbsup:
