    Checking for new posts

Each time that I come to this site I click on new posts tab so I can check out anything that I haven't read. Sometimes I will just start looking around on the forums and find that someomne has responded to one of my posts and I hadn't see it come up when I pushed the new posts tab. Has this happened to others or am I just not paying enough attention.

People might reply to one of my posts and it is awhile before I realize it. This gives the impression that I do not follow up on a reply. Is it just me or are there others that are experiencing this same thing?

I also go right straight to New Posts and I find it usually covers them all. I think occasionally they get 'reset' - maybe after problem fixes, etc. The biggest problem I have is finding the new posts on anything over one page long. Often they are buried in the middle of long threads (like the ridiculous Welcome thread). The new light blue 'unread' indicators are much harder to see and at times, like today, they're not marked at all. If you really want to find it, you can go hit the Latest Posts tab and go backwards. - Terry

I have noticed that too. I suspect the algorithm is to show new posts since your last visit, but not necessarily new posts you haven't looked at yet. So if you visit without looking at the new posts and then return and look for new posts you won't see the new posts you would have seen on the previous visit had you checked.

If anyone was nice enough to respond to one of my posts and I did not reply or acknowledge you, I apologize and will try and check a little better.
