NOT my photo!

I was looking around in my gallery as I keep forgetting that its there, and there is a photo that is in my gallery that is not mine. The name is even on the photo... not sure how it go in my gallery but I didn't put it there. Perhaps it was a glitch for the forum, not sure but can you guys remove it or should I just remove it? I don't have anyone else's photos, but some of mine appear 4 or 5 times when I know I only posted them once.

You are not the only one Amber. Just took a look and saw this shot in my gallery. IIRC, this shot should be some crappy, blurry, blown out shot of a seagull...LOL

Maybe you did some post processing and reposted a photo for someone and forgot to uncheck the add to gallery box. I've accidently done that a couple of times but caught them eventually.

That could be a possibility, but I doubt it cause I've never post processed for anyone lol. I've actually never even seen that photo until I saw it in my gallery and I had to go to the thread its from to look for it.. but I didnt' see it there either...

NOt the case for me Frog. It was a thread I started and was my own shot that I had uploaded. The correctt photo is in the thread that the gallery links to but, the gallery image is not mine

Thanks for pointing that out. I deleted it. I searched the member database to try to figure out who it belongs to. But I couldn't find a good fit. It's a mystery. Ocassionally the gallery does cross wires and photos get posted to the wrong member gallery. That's the most likely explanation.

That's an idiosyncrasy of this gallery. It should be 3 or 4 times. But every category is a new instance of the image. It's not really the best system. But it's what we've got for the time being.

Not mine at all. I checked my gallery after Amber's post and found that one. I left it up so you could see what was going on. I just took care of it though.

But I didn't post them in any categories - just in threads.
I just left the upload to gallery checkbox clicked.
So I expected it to do what I told it !
I wanted just one copy of the image in my personal gallery.
Not copies in other categories.

I'm off now to clean up the gallery and delete all the other copies.

IMO it should only post one copy.
It seems to be working right recently.
So captions: I'm Not here, Buggy Sex, Evening Light, w.o.w. or Wombat on Web, backlit sunset flowers all appear once so they upload did what it promised.

Has in fact today done what it says - only added to my gallery.

I checked the earlier images and they are all in my gallery, they do not appear to be in other categories. The breadcrumbs for each image say Gallery Index » Member Galleries » SmartWombat - that means the multiple copies are in my Gallery.

I moved one of the multiple copies of an image in the Nature category and the breadcrumbs changed to Gallery Index » Categorized Photo Galleries » Nature
Then I went back to my gallery and the image still showed in by gallery - BUT clicking on the image took me to the nature category.

So by checking all the duplicate images, and seeing the breadcrumbs still point to my gallery and not to other categories, I know that they are duplicated and not in other categories.

It it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck - it must be an illusion covering a dwarf's treasure cave. (sorry RPG joke)
