Nit-Picking from a new member

I belong to forums on most of my other "Hobbies" ( addictions).

I find that this one is not the slowest, but is in the running. I have DSL, but...............

Any chance of it speeding up? As I said, I'm a new member, so this could be a temporary condition ?

It could be a temporary slowdown. Or it could actually be slow. Can you tell me what browser you're using and whether you're running any ad-blocking software or anything else that might interfere with the page load times? Also, can you give me a couple examples of other forums you're using so I can compare them myself? I appreciate your feedback and would like to speed the forums up, if possible. I'm not sure what can be done. But if I can get some more information from you I can do some checking and then talk to my developers about the speed.

Frank, the site loads low here also. Has for a while. Same on both IE and FF2 and FF2 on linux. Seems to stick when teh google banner ad at the top loads. The blue title banner loads, then the top google banner loads, then around 15-30 sec later the forum and sidebars load.

Fifteen to thirty seconds later? Are you kidding? Is it consistently that way for you? I am not seeing that and I'm constantly on the forums with two separate computers. Is it that slow for you too, Frank? If so, I think there's something else going on. And I wonder how many people it's happening to.

John, only time it loads like it should are when I hit post reply. Does the same on multiple computers here also. Today it was around 5-10 sec load time. Have seen 30 sec loads though. Could be sticking on the sidebar ad loads.

Yeah, sounds like the skyscraper ad is the culprit. But I almost never see 30-second page load times. Where are you, what browser are you using, and is it a mac or PC? I just want to find out what all the variables are before I take this to the developers.

Hate to complain but this site is the slowest of a dozen or so I visit.

At least five to six seconds to load a thread and/or go back to the main forum. Ten to fifteen seconds minimum for main page to load.

Windows XP on a Dell, wireless internet speed tested moments ago at 940 kbps.

S WI. Charter 5mb. USe both IE6 and Firefox2 on XP and Firefox 2 on the linux machines. Does teh same thing on 4 different pc's both wired and wireless. Also does the same at my brothers house on DSL.

Some days it takes up to 30 sec before its totally loaded. Tonight it took around 20 to load the main page and 15 to load this thread.
