Message at the top of the screen (if you havnt posted in a bit)

Is there a chance ya guys can loose the thing at the top that tells you you havent posted in several weeks? Kinda a goofy waste of processing to even have it.

    Example....
Hello RP Racing it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

You really think it's a bad idea to encourage people to login and participate? I bet there are a bunch of people on the forums right now who are registered but not logged in. I would like them to login and and make a post of some sort. As for processing, it's not even a drop in the ocean.

But I'm listening. Do you have another idea that would encourage people to participate more? Could we word it better or use that space for something else you'd appreciate more?

You could always try something along the lines of... "Yo Butt Head! You've been stagnant for far too long. Login and post something.. ANYTHING, for goodness sake!"

Ass Hat would be another option.. Butt Head is so '80s...

Had I seen that, I'd have logged on sooner than I did.

I'm not sure where or if the facetious tone ended. So please clarify - you did log in at least in part because of the message? Or I need to call you Ass Hat if I want you to do something?

The truth is, sometimes it's hard to know if these things have any value or if they just bug people, as RP Racing implies. I figure it's better to leave it. That it probably helps more than it hurts. But if people have better ideas, I want to hear them. Even if they come from big redheads.

It was all said in sarcasm. To be perfectly honest, I never even noticed the "Please participate and I'll give you a shiny new penny" thing.

You really don't need to call me an ass hat unless you really really want to.

Put pics of naked women there instead,

BUt there are people who just read for info and rather not post unless its something they cant find. That message can make people feel like they are forced to post or they get kicked off. Actually seen a site that did that.
