    Major Forum Problem!! Please!!!

This is now the 4th username I have had to use to get onto these forums. After a while, the user name just expires or is deactivated never to be seen again. I have gone from "mfanelli" to "Michael Fanelli" to "mwfanelli" and now to "mwfanelli2". Please please please!!! Do not expire and/or deactivate usernames of active members! If there is a reason I am always being deactivated, let me know what the problem is.

Welcome to the site, mwfanelli2. Sorry, bad joke...

Michael, I can't imagine this is being caused by the site. Seeing how there are hundreds and hundreds of members whom never post. Yet they stay registered.

Also, up to this point, I haven't heard of anyone else (other than spammers) who have had to re-register for any reason.

I'd PM John and make sure he's aware of this. There has to be a logical explanation...

The deactivation occured in the middle of a session yesterday. I'm permitted to log in but get the message:

"Your account has not been confirmed and is not yet active! To become a registered user on this forum (required for posting or accessing special features) you will need to verify your email address by clicking a special link sent to you in our original welcome email. If you have lost this email, or it never arrived, please go here to request another activation email be sent to you. If you suspect your email address is set wrong, go here and fill the form out so an administrator can fix your account. Also please be sure to disable any spam filters you may have for our website, so that this and all future messages can reach you."

Of course, that email is long, long gone. No new one has been sent out. The other user names just stopped working altogether. After "Michael Fanelli" failed, no one could figure out what happened. It was P-Js idea to register again, "mwfanelli", to solve the problem. Now this new fiasco! Good grief...

Maybe one of the Mods just doesn't like you

I'm also on the MTBR forums on the sister site, and this is the first time I've heard of this happening.

This is the first time I've heard of this problem, too. It sounds like we talked about it before. But I don't remember. We don't expire any user names. So I have no idea what's going on. But I'll take a look at the membership database and see if all of your usernames are still listed. I certainly don't want you to have to keep re-registering under different usernames. There's no reason for it and that's not the way things are supposed to work.

Sorry about this, Michael. I'll get right on it.
