    Question Long lag time

Yesterday and today I've experienced a very long lag time when clicking into posts - it happens with every post I click in to. It seems to "freeze" in the white top area from 30-60 seconds.

    Network Issues

Yes, there's a problem. It's across the whole Consumer Review network right now. Our engineering staff is working on it. Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon.

    Re: Long lag time

I quite often have to reload pages on this site to get them to appear. They often hang after the damned blinky banners are displayed. It's irritating enough that if I didn't already know the worth of this site, I wouldn't hang around. I sometime wonder how many folks don't come back after a couple visits because of it.

The "damned blinky banners" pay the bills. And they're on most sites that I use. But it's possible we have some sort of implentation conflict. What browser and operating system are you using? There are so many variables it's hard to test for all of them now. We mostly test for IE and Firefox on PCs. There is a Mac in the office, but I have to walk around a corner to get to it

I know John , sorry for sounding grumpy. I use Windows XP and IE over cablemodem. I don't experience this kind of hesitation on most sites I visit, even ones with more ads. I suppose there is a possibility that it's firewall or popup control issues.

For an example I just opened Almo's Egret thread on the Wildlife forum. The PR menu bar and blinky banner showed up in 2 sec and the rest was blank until 16 seconds. Sometimes the rest just stays blank and I reload the page.
