Log in problem

I'm reporting this for a member who can't log in to report a log-in problem (seems like a circular situation).

Somehow she got logged out and now needs to log back in, but can't remember her password, since it's been a very long time since she needed it. There may also be an old email address for her in the site records. I'd rather not give her email here, due to privacy. She says that she's supplied the correct email, but there's no response.

In interest of keeping a member, could we please find out how to get her password in this situation, or find another solution.

By the way, this forum used to be accessible even if you weren't logged-in. But the resulting spam was so bad that I had to tighten up the permissions on it. It's really too bad. Spam is so much more than just an nuisance.
