    Help

    Hi,
How do I "link" an image in the forums (like ACArmstrong, et al) do. I would just be linking from my PR Gallery to VF or PC. I have used the "<img src=..../> command but all I get is a box with a red x in it. What am I doing wrong?

    example:
    <img src= http://gallery.photographyreview.com...cat=524&page=2 />

And now I can't even get that. HELP!!!

    Re: Help

    Ken,

Use the HTML code the way you have it, but the image URL needs to be in quotes. No spaces anywhere in the code, and no backslash at the end the way you have it.

    IOW, <img src= "http://www.photourl.com/whatever.jpg">

I left a space before the first quote mark simply so the code would show. Take that space out when you do it...

If this isn't what you're asking, maybe you could be more specific. I just looked more closely at your post, and noticed you're trying to use a page URL in an IMG tag. The URL with that tag needs to be an individual image file...

    Re: Help

Ok... the first try is from the "source file of Andy Armstrongs recent post using my pics address. The second one is AS's suggestion. I don't understand why it's not working...

    Ok, now I'M confused...

Ken, I think you need to explain exactly what you're trying to do, and how you want your post to look.

You're still trying to use an IMG tag with a web page URL. And because it sees the page URL, the forum post software is automatically printing that as a link to that page.

As I mentioned in my first reply, that won't work. An IMG tag will only work with an image file URL. IOW, a single jpeg image path on a server.

Now, if you want to show an image, and have that image link to another page, you need to use a little more complex series of HTML code. You need to combine the a href tag to create a link, and insert the IMG tag before the /a tag to create an image to show.

Hope that make sense. Give me an idea of exactly what you want the viewer to see, and I can give you better info...

    Re: Help

    Ken-
This forum uses VB code. It's a lot simpler than html. And you can use the tools above the posting form to post images. I used the VB code to post this image from the gallery.

    Re: Help

Thanx Steve...I don't fully understand, but will research it a little bit...I haven't used html for years, so I'm real rusty.
John...I will try that. I've never used VB code before, so I will have to play with it.

    Again...Thanx to both of you!!!
