    gallery limit?

I've noticed that my photo gallery won't show pictures older than Jan. 2007.
Does the gallery have a limit of age or number of pictures?

    Re: gallery limit?

OK, I tried some different things and got back to June 2004, which is good...
However, when I sort on Posted Date, Beginning, Descending, it only goes back to Jan. 2007; that's the only one not working as expected.

Thanks for reporting the problem, rostamiani. The only limits in the gallery are a maximum file size of 5 MB and we also limit the number of photos you can upload at one time. Were you uploading on the gallery or on the forums? The forums upload to the gallery but have their own limits in order to keep the forum experience better. How large were the files you were trying to upload?

That definitely sounds like something is wrong. I will do some testing and see what I can find. Thanks for reporting the problem.

    Re: gallery limit?

I saw that you uploaded a bunch more photos.

"Please choose your camera ..." isn't an error. You have the option of associating your camera and lens with your photo when you upload it.

I'm really not sure what went wrong. I uploaded some photos of my own without any problems. You can delete any photos that you don't want from your gallery. Use the "Edit Photo" link below the photo info and then use the checkbox at the bottom of the edit page to delete the photo.

Yes of course, it's not an error !
But not when I selected the camera !

Thanks ... it seems that the error solved.

I have found that this 'error' about missing information often appears whether or not the information is missing and actually makes no difference in the upload process. - Terry

I have never actually seen - or at least noticed - this error. Is there an actual error message displayed? You don't have to select a camera to post a photo. Or at least, you're not supposed to have to.

After I select the file on the first page and hit Upload, it goes to the second page.

If I do not enter anything here and hit the Process button, a small box pops up as

    'Message from webpage'

    In the box it says

'Please enter a title for your photo!' and there is an OK button.

When I hit OK, it continues on and processes the file photo. In other words, the box would seem to indicate that a title is required and yet it goes on anyway.

If when the second page first comes up I enter a title and then hit Process, the same box comes up (whether I entered a camera or not) that says

'Please select the camera you used for your photo!' with the OK button.

Again, when I hit OK, it just continues on and processes the file.

It has done this for me for a long time (always???), but since it doesn’t really do anything, I’ve never reported it.

I have found the same thing. I'm asked to provide camera make which I always do, but I ignore the request and the upload finishes without problem. Figured it was a glitch but seemed to be so minor that I never bothered bringing it up.

    Re: gallery limit?

The dialogue asking about camera information comes from another website, part of the consumerreview group but last time I checked the origin it wasn't photographyreview but seemed to be reusing an equipment gathering page from another server and branding it/skinning it for pr.com - so if your browser tries to prevent cross-site scripting, or you have to approve trusted scripts on a per-site basis you have to be sure to enable all of them
