    A few Site glitches....

For the past few days I've experienced some glitches that seem to be getting a bit worse today.

It has taken much longer for the website itself to download. I experience the same problem trying to get into the forums - and from one thread to another.

Today it is much slower than yesterday. I have had to "refresh" almost every time I try to go from one thread to another. I've had the same experience when I submitted a post - I had to refresh before I could get back into the original thread.

I almost gave up earlier trying to get into PR today - but the refresh worked, albeit slow.

I have not experienced this with any other websites - so am assuming it is not my pc.

Thanks, Liz. Sorry about the problems. I haven't noticed any issues today and it's working fine for me right now but that doesn't mean there isn't a problem. Often, page load problems are caused by ads. Did any of the page load? Did it load partway and then hang somewhere?

I get hangs where nothing of the page loads.
I just hit refresh in the browser and it picks a different random ad I guess, usually, and loads.

Which browser(s) does this happen with?

Most of the time the top of the page would "begin" to load - then nothing. I couldn't tell if it stopped or was hanging. When I refresh it - it will load, but quite slowly.

    Hello Photo-John,

I have been also experiencing this same "pages" not loading, sort of a stalled out condition.

Once I read your comments, I thought I would "watch" along the right-hand side of the monitor's screen, browser area.

Sure enough, I believe you are right, - the ads section started to load then freezes...

Then if I "leave it alone, and wait" eventually all the ads pop up (visible) all at once - then all is fine again...

Thought I'd relay my findings to you, (and others that may need to know)?

Also, this is occurring using Firefox browser - Version 10.0.1, on Windows Vista Home Edition (if the OS matters)?

Thanks for looking into for us,

    Have a nice day...

    Ed

Thanks for the added info, ELS. That definitely sounds like an ad server or specific ad problem. You don't by any chance remember what the ads were, do you? Everything is working fine for me and I don't yet see a pattern that would completely explain the problem so we can fix it. Sometimes it's a specific ad and you guys might be seeing an ad that I'm not now that Web advertising is so targeted. If there is a specific ad causing the problem, and we can identify it, we can have it fixed or removed.

I have a different glitch going on for me. Everything is loading fine..but scrolling is just not working. You try to scroll down and it won't go, then it keeps flipping the page back up to the top. No experience like this on any other sites...I'm on chrome.

It seems we have a few issues right now, across the forums on all of our sites. They're being worked on right now.
