confusing layout

Since you have changed the layout of this site everything become pretty much confusing. Just to log in it takes some time not to mention to find the forums ... I think the older layout were better in my opinion. Oh well... time to move on..

Sorry you're having trouble with the new design. Whenever something that we're used to changes, it takes some getting used to. So far you're only the second or third person to tell me they don't like the new design. In fact, people who hated the old design really like this new one. It's especially designed to help the first time visitor find what they need quickly. It's impossible to make everyone happy, but I'll do my best.

You say you're having a problem logging in? I don't think that would have anything to do with the new design. Can you describe the problem so I can try to help or pass it on to the developers?

Well I just tried it for the first time as I usually just come straight to the forums without going through the rest as I set my bookmark as the forums and automatic login.

It took me all of 2 seconds to find the login, which yes is a little small, should have the same login fields on all login pages, not just a link to then go to the login.

I don't personally think it is confusing at all and I would be the first to say that it was and I am sure Photo-John would atest to that as well.

I too would be interested in knowing what the problem was, as I really haven't seen the opening page of the site until today, although I did see the screen shot of it in the beginning when it was announced as a coming change.

I didn't think about confusion between the login on the forums and the login on the rest of the site. They are different and that's a good point. There's a technical reason for it. It's not just a random design decision. But like you, Peter, I don't see it as that big of a deal. And if it is confusing, it's probably only going to be confusing once.

But...

I do want the site to work as well as possible for as many people as possible. So if there's a problem I want to know about it.
