    Question Asylum Steve...re: Private messages

    Hi Steve
This is to your attention because I owe you a private message but can't figure out how to send one. I figured posting here I would learn....and you would know why you never got any from me.

First - thanks for noticing that I wasn't around - it's nice to be "missed."
I had posted somewhere I was planning a vacation, but it was long before I actually left, so I think the post was old. I told Lara I would sent you a pm.

I feel so stupid - but I can't figure out how these work. In the past I've replied to pm's I've received, but can't figure out how to send one without the option to "reply." In fact, even the 3 I replied to are still listed as "unread." I did wonder if I did something wrong since none of the 3 read the replies.

So.....bottom line - how do I send a pm? Thanks.

    Liz

May I be so bold as to answer for Steve? He can beat me up later.

Don't feel stupid Liz. You are NOT!! You're just not in the habit of using Private Messages.

If you click on Steve's username either by finding one of his posts in the forums, or going to members list, which takes longer, you will find how to send a pm. From a post by Steve, Click on his username. A dropdown list will show up when you click on Asylum Steve. In the dropdown is "send a private message to Asylum Steve." Click on that and the form to send a pm will come up.

    Sending a Private Message (PM)

    Liz-
Just click on the member's name, to the left of one of their posts. A dropdown will appear and one of the options will be sending a private message. Click on the link and it will take you to a private message page with that user's name already entered. It's as easy as that.

    ...eavesdropping...

Liz, please don't "duh" yourself for trying to do it from the Private Messages link. It's the most logical thing to try.

    Liz,

You were in the right place, but the option was inan unfamiliar place. When in the private messagemenu, the option to send a ne wmessage is in the menu on the left-hand side.

Thanks Kelly for your kind words!

    "eavesdropping" - is allowed

I was trying to kill 2 birds with one stone.....apologize to Steve and find a way to do a pm. BTW, Kelly, I really enjoy reading your posts as you have a knack for writing - and a great sense of humor that goes along with it. For ex - the "eavesdropping" at the top made this post more interesting - and put a smile of my face. (which I needed today....heheh) It was clever.
