    Behind the Tripods

My son has really been getting interested in learning to shoot. That is his tripod on the left. He has been using a Sony 5n. He is getting pretty good at it too. These are my pictures but his really turned out nice. Tonight we practiced.

    Re: Behind the Tripods

I like all the shots, including the first of the tripods.
Pretty soon he'll be wanting a bigger tripod and camera than yours.

How'd you get the inside of the dozer cab red?

Frog I use a colored gel on a wireless flash. I have to flash it several times during the exposure to get it right. I hand fire another flash and walk around flashing the outside during exposure. It is all trial and error.
Thanks all. The State is building a new highway and the supply of heavy equipment is endless.

One more this was shot with the Sigma 8-16mm lens. I think it's the widest lenses on the market. A really nice lens. I shot this with no filters. The Sigma can't take filters.

I think my son is finally working out in his head DOF, shutter speed and ISO. He is going on a trip to Florida at the end of summer and I am getting him ready.

Greg - nice lens! And great shots. I love the last one.

I think it is so wonderful that you and your son are doing photography together. It has to be fun - and most importantly, sharing a hobby is always good for a father-son relationship!

    Enjoy!

    Nice shots

It is wonderful when someone close to you also get interested in photography, I have had a few sessions together with my daughter, I really enjoy seeing her progress, or receiving critiques from her (!)

I like the contradiction in that last shot. You have some lovely scenery shown with the means of its destruction .....
