    Do you recognise this

I bought this ball grip from a friend of mine and I need to figure out how to keep the spring in so it will work. If I hold the handle out it will lock the head on the ball but there is something missing that keeps the spring in place that keeps the handle out until squeezed that is missing. It doesn't have a name or model number on it to be able to look it up on line. It is very well built and not cheap at all. If anyone has any information about it I would certainly appreciate you posting it. Thanks, Jeff

I have the Manfrotto version and it has a cylynder that goes over the spring and into the body. - TF

That is what I thought would be there. Is it just a sleeve that has a rubber end to grip the lever you squeeze? I already have the two Manfrotto heads below but a friend of mine sold me a tripod and this ball head I am asking about for $20.00 so I can't go wrong. Thanks for showing me the picture, that helps a lot, Jeff

I believe it was made by Amvona, It came on their monopods and tripods from several years ago.

I believe that there was a screw plug to keep the spring in but I may be wrong. It was a long time ago that I saw one of these at the local photography shop.

Looks like they were made for Kruger Optical as well.

As well as a no name version.

No, the end part is rounded metal that is smooth enough to slide on the trigger as it is squeezed. - Terry

Thanks OldClicker, for clearing that up. I am going to see if I can make something similar to yours. This looks and feels very heavy duty and will be worth investing some time to fix. Thanks for your help because now I know what I need to do to get it working.

gryphonslair99, thanks for your input also. The picture you gave of the one on E-Bay looks like the one I have except the handle looks like the one that OldClicker has with the covered spring between the grip and the handle. The handle also is like OldClickers in that it pivots like his from the bottom.

Thanks again to both of you, Jeff

What happens if you push the spring all the way in and hold it. Does the lever flop or does it work correctly?

I will run by the local photography shop and see if they still have the monopod with that head on it. If so I will see what it has and maybe get a manufactures name off of it.

If the lever is held out away from the grip it holds everything perfectly stable. If the lever is pulled in everything moves as it should. If I can get the spring to keep tension on the lever everything will work just fine, Jeff
