A friend of mine just observing the nature around him.

this one kind doesn't work for me.

the boy is in a strange position, high in the frame. usually i think a more natural position would be bottom left thirds in this one. he is centered and high in the frame. the centering sometimes works and that's fine, but there's something awkward about a person being high in the photo that throws it off for me usually. i think including more on top of him and way less below him might have improved this a bit.
