    Which Crop; Does This Work?

Any suggestions or comments are welcome. Same bird, different shots, but obvioulsy one shot has more of the plant stem. I am not sure if more plant or closer bird is correct.

    Thanks,

    CF

I would try spacing near equal to what you have on the right above the flower and behind/below the HB. - Terry

I like the first one. Enlarging the bird adds very little.

The first one has too much stalk for me. The second one is bit too square. So I would say something in between.

I would crop the bottom off up to about half way to the humming bird on the first shot, Jeff

I don't know, I like the longer stalks better in the first one. It gives more of an illusion that the hummingbird is large, as if the flowers are trees. I don't recall seeing a humming bird pictured in this perspective. So this is more unique to me.

Very cool, I agree with loupey, somewhere in between. Tough call though, I can see your dilemma.

Re: Which Crop; Does This Work?

    Anbesol,

Thanks so much for leaving the comment. I am having a tough decision and understand Loupey suggestion. At first I wanted the shot to be all about the bird, which it is. But that crop/shot leaves me flat. The first post with more stem clearly is not the shot. I have looked at the half-way suggestion and something is not right about that either. Really disappointing as the bird portion doesn't get any better. At least not for me. Yet.

    Thanks again.
