Great shots! My faves are the girl in white the intense focus in her eyes has been picked up very well and the last one, I like the comp, perspective and the small particles of dirt caught in mid air... Would you mind me asking which camera/lense set-up you were using?

    Thanks
    Mitch

All except for the spandex guy (who I think ended up getting 3rd fastest time overall) were shot with a Nikon D300 & 70-200 F2.8 lens. The spandex guy was taken with the D300 + 35mm F1.8 lens.

Hows the weather in Lehi? I'm gonna be there next week. I told my parents it needs to be warm!

Scott nice collection of shots! I agree with the other gentleman on the last shot, great composition. Spandex guy shot, I love the chain action. Off camera flash? I am looking into a small setup for that:-)

    Re: DH bike race

The trails were a little ways from the beach in Salinas, CA. Trails were a mix of fireroad & singletrack. The singletrack was nice dirt and a little sandy in some places. The switchbacks & the jump were the only real places that you'd need armour, well except for some high speed crashes.
Jimmy - On camera flash for panning. Everytime I bring my off camera flash stuff I never use it. Whenever I don't bring it I wish I had. Next DH race I head to I plan on putting a remote camera under the jump. I was just too lazy to walk the mile or so back to my car & get it

    Nice series!

Same thing happens to me when bringing additional stuff, must of the time I don't use it.

Here is what Scott has to endure for the photos:

While nobody was hurt, the rider used a different approach the next time.
