    Smile Dawn's New Toy

A few days after Christmas, Dawn's dad come down to visit. He brought Dawn a very special Christmas present. The Browning Sweet Sixteen that had been given to him when he was a boy. People have already asked if she wants to sell it, but there is now way. It has too much sentimental value to her.

Here she is on our 12th anniversary shooting her new toy. (We took the day off to spend it together.) If you look to the right, you can see the ejected shell in the air.

    Go ahead, make her day!

She is getting quite a collection of her own. The Sweet Sixteen makes number four. If she keeps this up, I'm going to need a bigger gun safe!

    Re: Dawn's New Toy

I've started giving my kids family heirlooms before I die too.
Wish my dad had willed me his Winchester model 70 with carved ivory pistol grip and redfield scope from the 30s. My brother-in-law got it and someone stole it.

I noticed the shell AND the smile or is that a wince.
Tell her to stand straight and tuck that thing in.
    Keep Shooting!

I've just gained a lot more respect for Dawn. I see there is whole other side to her you haven't shared with us.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Hey Frog. It is nice to get stuff like this. It made for a very special Christmas present for Dawn.

I LOVE Winchester Model 70's! (I've got four of them) So I know how you must feel about that one.

That is a smile by the way. This was her first shot out of the gun. I told her to tuck it into her shoulder good and tight. I think she's arched back like that from the recoil. Regardless, she liked the picture so much she's already posted it on her Facebook page.

Most folks just see a pretty face. I guess I'm to blame for that, because I primarily show photo's of her just being beautiful. (See first photo.)

She's much more though. She's a Nurse Practitioner, she's got her doctorate (yes, they call her Dr. Dawn), she's got a black belt in karate (where she was known as the Queen of Pain - see second photo), and she shoots as well. In fact she plans on going hunting with me next year - she took the hunter safety course years ago - and she's looking at deer rifles.

Did I mention that she has the biggest gun in the house? For the record, she has a .45 caliber, while my biggest gun is a .44 caliber.
