jetrim, you have my curiosity up as to how you took this shot in the clouds at the same level of the plane? Were you standing on top of your car? LOL Jeff

Lol..............I wondered how you did it, too. I don't know how you could improve it. I don't see anything I don't like. You can see the dude's face!

    Re: Zero

It's all about playing the angles with these shots. I was standing in the middle off the crowd on the ground near "show center" to get all 900+ shots I took that day. Often you can catch these planes either coming out of a loop or when they rock their wings back and forth down the straightaway. The trick is in timing the shutter release, and it doesn't always work out as planned (got maybe 5 out of over 100 attempts). Here's a couple more:

You must live in flatter country than I to get these as if you are flying alongside with no land background. Really like the second shot in your second set.

    Re: Zero

Some very nice shots, I would suggest a slightly slower shutter to get more blur on the props and give the feeling of speed. It is slightly more difficult but I think worth the effort.

I live about 15 minutes from NAS Pensacola, home of the Blue Angles and if we want to we get to see them twice a week during their practices. I will post some photos of them soon.

Yeah we do Frog, the highest point in Florida, if you do not count condos  is 345 feet ASL.

    Re: Zero

Bill, I know I could have done a bit better on the prop blur and may take a stab at it in post processing. Lighting was in an ever changing state of flux and just keeping up with the exposure was a chore with the sun dipping in and out of the clouds that were moving through at about 25kts.

Frog, the biggest mountain range in this part of FL is 50 miles north of me and shoots skyward an astounding 45' above sea level, it's about 2500"wide and runs for an incredible 4 miles in length, so "flat" is pretty much an understatement!

    Re: Zero

I much prefer the second one in your second post, the angle and composition is great - I like the way the plane overlaps the larger plane.

Great work! Nothing to critique as far as I'm concerned.
