Due to the fact that we only have one picture to look at I can't say if I like it better or not but I can say that I like this version of the scene, Jeff

Nice capture...put them both up for comparison.
Only problem with this one is that your subject is centered both vertically and horizontally..

My problem has been the centering also??

    Here's the other one...

I like the second one better. The walker, the shadow on the wall, plus the depth added by shooting at an angle and the mysteries of what lies behind those doors add to the impact.

These are awesome. Can ask what PP effects or lens filter in the second?

Nice shots, both - can't really suggest any improvement...

I like the second one better. I agree the first is to centered and needs some skewing to give it some symmetry and maybe a crop too.

These are really good. The only thing I wish the wheelchair was older, like one of those old wooden ones.

    Re: Wheely Strange

Hey fellas thanks for the kind comments, think I'm going to do some serious cropping on the first one though............the second with regards lighting? is just an open door streaming in light directly facing the chair all the windows in this ward were boarded up, and the floor was rather interesting in there also...........lol look behind the wheelchair and you'll see what I mean

    Re: Wheely Strange

I like the scene. This place is rich in texture and color and intriguing light. I think compositionally the second image works best, but i like what you were trying to do and the potential in the first. Having the wheelchair feel singled out in the large room has an eerie feeling about it and i think thats what you were going with in that first shot. I agree it is not quite there though. I thik a crop would help but I am not sure that it will be enough to get it right. I think the chair might have been best positioned so we see its profile. . .not sure. So, of these two i think the second one is most accomplished. I like your post processing where it looks like the lighting has been diffused somewhat?
Good work, in a delightfully eerie way.

Creepy and strange and wonderful. Can't believe I missed these.

They look HDR'd or Topaz'd or LP'd. Very deft use of any of the above techniques and/or filters.

I like the second one better, though both look good. I really like the intensity of the hole in the floor in the first one, but I think if you tried to catch it in the second you would've screwed the composition.

    Great Shot!

    Re: Wheely Strange

You did a great job with both of these images. After viewing them a few times, I think I like the composition of the 2nd one better. However, that first one still draws my attention.

I'm interested to see what else you do with the first one. It's a pleasure viewing them.

    Re: Wheely Strange

The forst one could have been wonderful if you cropped one side to de-center the chair and enlarged it to make the texture of the wall stand out.

    Re: Wheely Strange

The second post is really spectacular. The first isn't bad but as you said a bit centered, plus it isn't illuminated as nicely as # 2. Both are good though.

It almost seems like an effect was used on 2, but ... ?

Thanks for all the comments guys/galls....................yes there was an effect as Draymorton and Shootme pointed out, this is a 5 exposure HDR which was tonemapped in photomatix
