However it seems like there is a slight blue tint over the whole picture.
Not seeing a gator in real life I would think that the gator's skin should be more darker in the browns or blacks?
Feel Free to edit my photos, However please explain what you did to them.

This shot was taken in the shade in very late morning. The blue cast you see is the reflection of the sky off the very murky water.
here's a shot of the same gator in bright sunlight - although the water color changes, his coloration is about the same.
NOTE - This second shot is horrible for anything beyond pure documentary purposes, so no need to critique it, just posting so icicle can see the difference
