    rule ?

Now most of the time you'll be told there should be space in front of a moving subject so that there's something to move into.
But where it's a car trailing smoke, or gravel and dust, does this "rule" matter ?
Would you prefer to see the ratio reversed (centring is still less dynamic) and so have the trail dominating in the scene ?

I think the tree in the corner is overkill, but if it's not a straight news shot then you can do something more with the composition

I think that the smoke/dust becomes the subject and doesn't need anything but what made it. - TF

    Re: rule ?

So would you go to the extreme, and crop the car to just he back wheels ?
In a way I'm hoping it rains for one of the remaining races this year ... nice rooster tails!

    Re: rule ?

    Nope, the whole car.

Also, maybe I should have been more careful in my wording and said, "IF the smoke/dust becomes the subject..." - TF
