New respect for pet photgraphers

Trying to get better pic of Sadie, our new dog. I can get her to sit and stay for short periods of time but as soon as I get down to get a straight on shot she wants to come lick my lens.
I kind of like this one though I wish I'd got the eyes a bit sharper and I chopped her ears but had my 90mm on when I started shooting and was too lazy to go get something wider.
What do you think?

I won't pretend to know enough to comment on the technical aspects of it. It seems really nice to me. So just as a casual observer:
Overall I really like it and the ears being slightly cropped doesn't bother me. But then I tend to like compostions where the subject touches on three sides. I can't decide if I like the line of stuff (?) in the background with the the green spots in it. The form/shape itself is ok, but since it's a pretty warm picture overall the bit of green kind of stands out a bit too much. Maybe if you could either change it to a different color altogether or see what it would look like if it was more of an olive green or something?

Personally, when I see close-ups like this, I like that partial-crop effect ... is seems to put me more in the photo for some weird reason.

Background doesn't bother me in this one, as it's so blurred it's almost non-existent ...

Nice picture Frog. However, yes I also knew this was coming, could you crop just under the white bar with the green stripes, and clone out the upright support from behind her head.

Very nice portrait Frog. The look is nice, almost as posed as a regular human portrait. lol. I like the dof also, chopped ears don't take away too much from it.

I think you did a great job and the picture is definitely a keeper. Icicle has already stated just about exactly what I was going to say, Jeff
