I do a lot of action shooting in low light. It can't be avoided when you're doing mountain bike photography in the trees. Panning is an option, as is flash. But I don't always want to carry flash equipment on the bike (every ounce counts when you're riding) and blur from panning isn't always desirable. So I am always psyched about being able to use higher ISO settings with acceptable noise. The Canon EOS 5D Mark II is ridiculously good in low light. And I am finding the Nikon D5000 is also very good. This is a very nice, compact camera with great performance. This photo was shot at ISO 1600 and I think it's very usable.
